We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our vehicle maintenance workshop. The ideal candidate will oversee all servicing, repair, and diagnostic activities for large commercial and service vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship, efficient turnaround, and adherence to safety standards.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing people, processes, and equipment.
Oversee the repair, servicing, and maintenance of heavy-duty and commercial vehicles (e.g., trucks, utility vehicles, loaders, etc.).
Manage a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders.
Schedule and prioritize jobs based on operational needs and customer deadlines.
Conduct quality checks and inspections to maintain high repair standards.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, parts usage, and service reports.
Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring availability and cost control.
Enforce safety protocols and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Liaise with management, suppliers, and clients regarding job progress, estimates, and technical issues.
Provide technical support and mentorship to team members.
Monitor and report on workshop performance metrics, including turnaround time and cost efficiency.
Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in automotive repair, mechanical maintenance, or workshop supervision, ideally with large or commercial vehicles.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Technical certification or qualification in automotive mechanics / heavy vehicle maintenance preferred.
Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
